Mission Statement

The late critic Roger Ebert (an inspiration to this website) once said “It’s not what a movie is about, it’s how it’s about it.” This website hopes to apply the same insight to writing. We profess no particular expertise in the subject. Instead, we hope to find common cause in our love of language, the craft of writing, and our desire to tell the world’s stories. By facilitating and participating in that discussion, we hope to improve our own writing process, inspire new means of creative expression, and pay homage to the many writers—a few famous, but so many less so—that have suffered for the art they, and we, love so much.

[And now, I guess, the defeating fascism thing.]
